Artist’s Statement
“I know that I am supposed to create. It is my purpose, my desire and life’s pursuit. I chose glass to express my ideas and creativity and that has become my life’s path. It could have been any material, but it is glass.
As I have worked with this material over the last 30+ years, I have become less attached to the final result of the blowing process. The concept and idea for the finished piece is very important, but when I begin creating a piece of glass and participating in the process of blowing glass, my focus changes. I become involved in a dance that defies an accurate description with words. The intense focus the glass process requires demands that I become part of that process to the point where it becomes instinctive.”
