Artist’s Statement

When John Klug retired from the career, he held in corporate finance he turned his attention to his dormant, artistic skills.   Finally, he had the time to explore and develop his underlying talents and be in a position to create original paintings.

John’s interest in art expression came from early-age influences.  His father was a local developer who designed and drew house plans for his business.  His mother, while not having a career in art, created many beautiful oil paintings still treasured by the extended family.

Having received the gift of artistic talent from their parents, John and his two sisters all currently paint, exhibit and sell their paintings.

John chose acrylic paints as his medium of choice for his works.  He expressed: “I enjoy painting in rich, vibrant colors.  My style and subject matter are selected to elicit simple pleasure in everyone who sees my work.  I get a personal satisfaction when I deem a painting to be finished.   Moreover, there is the ultimate satisfaction knowing, in some way, the vision I had for my subject choice, composition and the style of my finished paintings have ‘spoken’ to others and bring them joy. That’s when my paintings are truly completed.”

John is a member of Waukesha Creative Arts League and the Wauwatosa Artists Workshop.
